Over Special Council meetings on Nov 18-19, City of Penticton Council completed budget deliberations and are now nearing the final step to adopt the 2026-2030 Five Year Financial Plan Bylaw which is accompanied by the 2026–2030 Financial and Corporate Business Plan. These decisions reflect Council’s commitment to building a safe, vibrant, and resilient community while maintaining affordability for residents and businesses.
Key Highlights:
Strategic investments in public safety, infrastructure renewal, housing, and community amenities. Priorities include:
Fire Hall Renewal and modernization of public safety infrastructure.
Twin Pad Arena design and planning for future dry floor operations.
Community safety investments: additional firefighters, Clean Team resources, a RCMP resource, and seasonal bylaw officers.
Downtown Area Plan and KVR Trail Master Plan for improved livability and connectivity.
Transit network restructuring for enhanced service (pending BC Transit approval).
Next Steps:
The 2026-2030 Five Year Financial Plan Bylaw returned to Council on December 2 for first, second, and third readings, with final adoption of the Budget bylaw scheduled for the December 16 Council meeting.
The draft 2026-2030 Financial and Corporate Business Plan is ready for you to review. Residents and businesses interested in learning more about the budget and sharing their feedback will have the following opportunities during the public consultation period which runs from Oct. 21 through to end of day on Nov. 5.
