Consultation has concluded

The engagement feedback period for this proposal to amend the Official Community Plan has now closed. The results have been published on shapeyourcitypenticton.ca and will be shared with staff and the applicant. Should the applicant wish to proceed, the application will follow the procedures outlined in the Development Procedures and Delegation Bylaw and Local Government Act. All future communications about this application and opportunities for involvement will be shared through www.penticton.ca.

The City has received an application to develop 955 Timmins Street as a multi-family residential development. The development plans submitted with the application propose two, 5-storey apartment buildings and 81 townhouse units, totaling 229 units. This proposal would require an amendment to the City’s Official Community Plan (OCP) to change the future land use designation on the property from “Industrial” and “Urban Residential” to only “Urban Residential” and to rezone the property from M1 (General Industrial) to RM3 (Medium Density Multiple Housing). Given this proposal would require a change to the OCP, the City would like to ensure members of the community are aware of the application and have the opportunity to learn more and share their views on the proposal before it is considered by Council.

How can I get involved?

  • Read the information sheet and other supporting documents
  • Attend one of the events if you have questions
  • Complete the feedback form before Aug. 29

NOTE: The intent of the engagement is to understand the issues and help inform Council's decision. Community feedback is one of several factors Council must balance and consider when making decisions on behalf of the community.
