Sports and Recreation Needs Assessment

Save energy, save money.The City of Penticton&rsquo;s Electric Utility is interested in providing you with the best possible level of service. As our community grows, and demand for electricity climbs, the Utility is committed to staying one step ahead to ensure services remain sustainable to meet demand and ensure grid reliability.The City is issuing this questionnaire to assess the community&rsquo;s understanding of its residential electrical services, as well as overall satisfaction rate. We&rsquo;d also like to assess whether community members are interested in taking steps to reduce electrical use at home and save on bills. The questionnaire will be available until September 30, 2024.

Electrical Utility Questionnaire

The City has received an application for 955 Timmins Street. The proposal consists of repurposing the existing building to a mixed-use recreation and commercial facility. In addition to three 24-studio unit apartment buildings (72 dwelling units total). The application states the buildings would be comprised of studio units. This proposal would require an amendment to the City&rsquo;s Official Community Plan to change the future land use designation on the property from &lsquo;High Density Residential&rsquo; to &lsquo;Mixed-Use&rsquo;.The proposed development consists of a mixed-use commercial and recreation facility with 72 studio rental units. The recreation facility is proposed to contain two ice rinks, a baseball training facility, indoor pickleball courts, and other commercial units. The initial plans show 217 parking spaces, 97 bicycle parking spaces, landscaping along property lines, and 9 outdoor pop-up pickleball courts.
