Phase 3 - Survey

The City of Penticton is developing a Kettle Valley Rail (KVR) Trail Strategy to shape the future of the KVR Trail through Penticton. This plan will guide how the trail is improved, celebrated, and better connected to support recreation, transportation, tourism, and community wellbeing.

The City has completed two rounds of engagement to understand the existing conditions and to define a shared vision to guide the future of the KVR Trail. Over the past several months, we’ve reviewed community input and used it to develop a draft concept plan. Now, we’re seeking your feedback on the draft concept plan to help ensure the plan reflects what matters most to the community.

Concept Plan

The concept plan focuses on maintaining a connected and consistent feel throughout the KVR Trail, while reflecting the unique character of the different areas it passes through by dividing the corridor into six distinct Character Zones. These Character Zones were created to help tailor improvements, amenities, and experiences to the specific context, landscape, and community priorities of each section of the KVR Trail.

Your input will be used to refine the plan and inform the final stages of the strategy.  Feedback will be collected until July 28, 2026, at 11:59 PM. Thank you for your participation!

Section 1: The Vineyards

The Vineyard is a quiet, rural stretch where the trail weaves through Penticton’s vineyard landscapes. Improvements will be small scale improvements, focusing on enhancing safety at rural crossings, providing rest and gathering points at key destinations and enhancing surface quality. Wayfinding signage will help guide users to nearby connections, while preserving the character of the trail.
