Consultation on this project is now complete.

The City is entering the final stages of the process to complete a new Development Cost Charges Bylaw. This bylaw identifies the charges that will be applied to new residential, commercial and institutional developments at the time of subdivision or building permit application to share the costs of growth-related infrastructure with the developers. The City has prepared drafts of the charges (or rates) and a list of projects eligible for funding for discussion with stakeholders and the community prior to preparing the new bylaw. This site provides you with all of the information available on this topic as well as details on how you can get involved and share your feedback.

Urban Systems Report

Introduction message

Consultation has concluded

Having witnessed the tax and spend methods of the COP, I no longer trust any further funding requests. The waste of taxpayers money is disgusting. I would prefer to have some money spent on outside auditors coming in to find the waste and the pay-offs that have been going on for years. You have literally destroyed small business and families as well as made the downtown area a pit of destruction and filth while you pad your pockets at the taxpayers expense. Your should all be thrown in jail for what you have done to this beautiful city. I built a brand new home with the intent of retiring there, but hell no. Not with what I have watched transpire over the past few years.

A grocery store is seriously needed at the north end of Penticton.

Ban VACATION RENTAL / AIR B&B developments! There are too many in Penticton contributing to the extreme shortage of homes. Removing one family from a home, building 4 units in its place that are sold to investors for Air B&Bs! As taxpayers, we should not be forced to contribute to these developments so out of town investors can hoard homes and profit!
