The City has received an application for an Official Community Plan (OCP) Amendment at 2490/2510 Government Street. The proposal requests a change to the future land use designation on the property from “Industrial” to “Mixed Use" to support residential units within the existing building. More information is provided below to explain what "Industrial" and "Mixed Use" mean.
Given that this proposal would require an amendment to the City’s OCP, the City would like to ensure members of the community are aware of the application and have the opportunity to learn more and share their views before the proposal is considered by Council.
Paper copies of the survey are also available at City Hall, the Library, and the Community Centre during business hours
NOTE: The intent of the engagement is to understand community perspectives regarding the proposed land use change and help inform Council’s decision. Community feedback is one of several factors Council must balance and consider when making decisions on behalf of the community. If the application proceeds, there will also be a future Public Hearing where residents can provide comments directly to Council.

2490 and 2510 Government Street are currently designated Industrial which allows for light and heavy industrial uses characterized by goods production, manufacturing, distribution, and storage. The City has received a request to change the land use toMixed Use to support residential units within the existing building.
