The City has received an application for 955 Timmins Street. The proposal consists of repurposing the existing building to a mixed-use recreation and commercial facility. In addition to three 24-studio unit apartment buildings (72 dwelling units total). The application states the buildings would be comprised of studio units. This proposal would require an amendment to the City’s Official Community Plan to change the future land use designation on the property from ‘High Density Residential’ to ‘Mixed-Use’.
The proposed development consists of a mixed-use commercial and recreation facility with 72 studio rental units. The recreation facility is proposed to contain two ice rinks, a baseball training facility, indoor pickleball courts, and other commercial units. The initial plans show 217 parking spaces, 97 bicycle parking spaces, landscaping along property lines, and 9 outdoor pop-up pickleball courts.
