Penticton is taking steps to become recognized by the Province of B.C. as an age-friendly community. As part of this process, we need to evaluate what we’ve done right and what we need to improve. Information gathered on this page will help the City prepare its Age Friendly Action Plan, which will determine steps we can take to make our community even more inclusive for residents as they age.

Gaylewaylettover 2 years agoWe need left hand turn signals on Duncan & Fairview & on Fairview & Hwy. 97. I recently sat through 3 red lights before I could safely turn.
More left hand turn signals

Submitted photo: This photo titled “Where is the Bathroom” was taken by a participant who indicated that the lack of public restrooms in the downtown area is a deterrent to older adults and limits their use of this space.

The majority of housing in Penticton is age restricted and unaffordable. There are many options for housing for seniors but what about the rest of Penticton? Working people? Family’s? Collage university students? Single parents?
0 comment6Mary Jane Kilandover 2 years agoWASHROOMS
There needs to be more washrooms available for the elder. Basically non existent unless you are eating in a restaurant!! Not acceptable!! A city that's wants to ensure the elderly are taken care of, this is a basic need for us all.
0 comment7LEACabout 2 years agoStores for toddlers & for their mommas
It would be great to have a strictly child clothing/toy store, wether it be a Once Upon a Child or Buy Buy Baby/Toy'sRus. As well, this entrepreneur Momma would love a makeup store here like Sephora or Mac. The family would love a Costco closer by, but that isn't necessarily an age thing, just handy!
