Resident concerns related to speeding and shortcutting on residential streets from Kinney Avenue to Green Avenue West and from Cornwall Drive/Paris Street to Skaha Lake Road (“the neighbourhood”) have prompted a review of the area resulting in several traffic safety improvements coming to the neighbourhood.

This work will include:

  • Installing speed humps on Paris Street, Cornwall Drive, Baskin Street, Brandon Avenue, McCulloch Drive, Kirkpatrick Avenue and McKenzie Street
  • Installing traffic circles at Paris Street and Brandon Avenue and Cornwall Drive and at Kinney Avenue and Baskin Street
  • Installing entrance features to help slow traffic at all neighbourhood access points plus additional devices on McGraw Street
  • Installing “Friendly Streets” signage at all the entrances to this neighbourhood and reducing the speed limit to 30km/hr
  • Addition of new Crosswalks safety upgrades at Brandon Avenue and McGraw Street, which includes improved lighting and shortened crossing distances
