The City of Penticton has received an application to develop approximately 51 ha of land located at 1050 Spiller Road into a 29 ha residential development, with 22 ha of natural and park areas. As the proposal requires an amendment to the Official Community Plan and the Zoning Bylaw, the City is initiating the public process to consider the proposal in accordance with the requirements of the Local Government Act. This site is the central resource for information about the proposal, the process to consider it and the opportunities for citizens to be involved.

At their meeting on Feb. 16, Council decided not to give first reading to a bylaw to amend the Official Community Plan and the Zoning Bylaw. As a result, the public engagement process will not proceed at this time. This project site will be moved to the shapeyourcitypenticton.ca archives at the end of the week where it will remain for the information of interested citizens.

If this development is approved, what is the city going to do to handle the increased traffic flow on Upper & Lower Bench and Johnson Roads?

Charles Wieder asked 20 days ago

Thanks for your question Charles. The Council report will be available on this site tomorrow at around noon. It includes a section on the traffic impacts and staff recommendations. I will update this response once the report is released.
