Penticton’s Community Safety & Wellbeing Plan

We are building a multi-year strategy to make Penticton safer, stronger and more connected. The Community Safety & Wellbeing (CSWB) Plan brings together residents, local businesses, non-profits, Indigenous partners, education, public safety, and other organizations, as well as other levels of government, to identify key challenges to prioritize and address for a safer and healthier future.

The Community Safety & Wellbeing Plan Process

Phase 1 planning and engagement took place between late 2024 and early 2025. The City of Penticton conducted its initial phase of community engagement by launching a Public Safety & Wellbeing survey. More than 1,800 residents shared their experiences, concerns, and aspirations related to community safety and well-being. Emerging focus areas have been identified using public feedback paired with insights from municipal safety report data.

Learn more about our Phase 1 findings by reviewing the documents available in the “Documents” section on the side of this page:

How to Participate in the Process

Phase 2 is now underway, with a Community Safety & Wellbeing Survey now available here. This second public survey is designed to help us confirm emerging priorities in safety and wellbeing; to ensure residents continue to have a voice in the shaping of the CSWB Plan; and to better coordinate with our community partners on collaborative areas.

  • Why We’re Asking

Residents shared valuable insight in Phase 1 of the Public Safety & Wellbeing Survey, and several key priorities are beginning to emerge. These themes are still taking shape — and now we need your help to confirm whether they truly reflect what matters most. We also want to better understand which issues residents feel the City and its partners should focus on most urgently.

Phase 1 Emerging Community Safety and Wellbeing Themes

This short 8–10 minute survey is your opportunity to help shape the final priorities. Your input will directly guide Penticton’s Community Safety & Wellbeing Plan and help determine where the City and its partners focus their time and energy. Together, we can ensure Penticton remains safe, healthy, and connected.
